Bear

Bear the GSD puppy was found at 3 months old after being hit by a car. His leg was seriously fractured and mangled.

Bear was taken to a vet, who swore to treat him, but it turned out the vet was corrupt and had neglected him. This was when Four Paws One Heart stepped in – Bear was picked up and taken to our trusted vet. Luckily, we picked him up in time because his temperature was shockingly low, he had blood in his vomit and urine, and he was dehydrated and shaking. The vet stayed up all night with Bear to keep an eye on him. It was a very long and anxious night because we really was not sure if Bear would make it.

Over the next few days, Bear was observed carefully and had further X-rays and tests. As he was not eating or drinking and unable to go to the toilet, we were concerned Bear had a blockage or internal damage of some sort. Every day, we were hoping Bear was going to be ok.

Finally, after days of constant care from the vets, he started to recover. This was the best feeling because Bear really needed surgery on his leg as soon as possible; he just had to be healthy first. The options were amputate his leg or attempt surgery. Although Bear was so young and could have adjusted to three legs, we wanted to give him a second chance.

Luckily we did because now Bear has had surgery and his wound has healed, and he’s having physiotherapy to help with his movement. Now this beautiful boy can run and be a puppy again.
