Bella was being sold by children. They said she was only 5 years old. It’s very clear that Bella is much older and has been used for breeding. Years of being exploited, and when her owners no longer wanted to keep her, they disposed of her at a dog market.
The worst part is the market is for dog fighters. The only reason she would have been purchased is in hope that she may have another litter, or to be used as bait. People don’t attend this market to look for dogs that require veterinary care.
Luckily, Bella is safe now, and despite the neglect she has faced, her blood test results have come back okay. She’ll need vitamins and supplements, but nothing too serious. She is very skinny, bones are visible, but with a good diet she’ll be fine.
Her ear has an old bite wound which has healed and left her ear deformed. Her fur will need to grow back, but this is only a minor issue. Plus her legs need to regain muscle from where she has been locked away without exercise.
It’s a miracle she was found, and hopefully it wont be long until she’s looking and feeling healthier.
Bella is such a sweet girl and so gentle. She hasn’t reacted to dogs or cats at all. She allows you to touch her no problem. It is amazing how forgiving some of these dogs are.
At the market there is a few stolen dogs. It’s a possibility Bella was maybe someone’s loved pet at some point, which would explain why she’s so placid and trusting.
Bella is safe now, and her days of breeding are over. Only recovery and love from now on.
