Grace is a former bait dog. When found, she was being eaten alive by maggots. Dog fighters take dogs from the streets, or buy them from the black market just to be killed. We paid 5000EGP for her to be handed over because if we waited to haggle, she would have died. Her body absolutely stank from infections, and her body had been mauled. One ear had been bitten off.
Grace needed surgery to close her wounds and rabies shots in case the dogs who attacked her were infected. Further investigation showed she’d already been bred from several times, and she’s just two years old.
But it didn’t break her soul.
After months in medical boarding, Grace has made a good recovery and turned into the gentlest girl. She’s now been spayed, and she’s waiting to travel to her forever home in the UK.
