This beautiful boy was found defenseless and broken one night on the streets of Egypt, being attacked by a pack of other dogs. It was immediately evident that he had been this way for quite some time.
Heartbroken at the sight, we decided to get him to the vet who confirmed our suspicions; poor Nile had most likely been hit by a car and left. He was badly emaciated and dehydrated as he could not look for food or water.
Nile had currently has hip dislocations and leg fractures which need surgery. He’d learned to live with his fractures – although in severe pain, he still tried to use his legs. It was clear Nile had never experienced love or kindness. He was petrified of hands or any kind of handling. Catching him and putting him in the car was a challenge.
The vet his hopeful that Nile will walk again. Nile is currently in medical boarding and is expected to remain there until the end of the year at least.
