Tommy is a baladi ( Egyptian street dog). We think he is between 1-2 years old.
We found Tommy with a rope/plastic embedded into his neck. When Tommy was a puppy, he must have had some kind of collar put on him, and then when he grew the collar just never came off. It became embedded into his neck, causing severe swelling and infection.
Tommys salivary glands were damaged causing nose bleeds, and if he’d been left any longer, Tommy would have died from suffocation.
Tommy loves his humans, and he’s very affectionate and playful. He can become over-stimulated very easily and still thinks he is a puppy, though. He does play with his mouth like a puppy. He will need someone to continue setting boundaries and teach him the ways of the world.
Tommy can be corrected easily, and he is quick at learning, but he needs consistency. He’s not aggressive at all, he’s just just very playful and doesn’t know when to stop. Some dogs find this too much and don’t always like it, and for this reason, we believe Tommy would be suited in a pet-free and child-free home. This will allow Tommy to have focus purely on him and the ability to thrive and learn.
He walks well on a lead, and he’s very loving. He loves attention. Being a baladi, Tommy is also super clever. Would suit a quiet home where he can get long walks, a home that can provide mental stimulation.
Medum sized.
Over time, he could live with another dog once he has fully learned boundaries.
